April 29, 2016 has been proclaimed as Concrete Day in the state of Colorado.

“The state of Colorado recognizes the concrete industry as important to further development in our state and appreciates the hard work, dedication, and the efficiency of its employees,” said Colorado Gov. We look forward to celebrating Concrete Day at the Capitol every year and recognizing the thousands of employees that are making a difference in our state.”

The governor will be in attendance at this year’s event and giving brief remarks to attendees.

Concrete Day at the Capitol will be held on the southeast corner of the Capitol grounds April 29, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The concrete industry, represented by the American Concrete Pavement Assn. – Colorado/Wyoming Chapter, the Colorado Ready Mixed Concrete Assn., the Portland Cement Assn. – Rocky Mountain Region, and the American Concrete Pipe Assn. will host a picnic lunch for Colorado legislators and their staff.

The event will recognize the hard work of the Colorado Legislature and their staff members, while raising awareness of the importance of the concrete industry to the state of Colorado’s economic growth and sustainable development practices.

“I am looking forward to this year’s annual Concrete Day at the Capitol BBQ on April 29. The concrete industry’s contribution to transportation, infrastructure, and residential building is vital to Colorado’s economy. I appreciate the hard work of the concrete industry professionals in building a stronger state,” said State Rep. John Becker, R-Fort Morgan.
